Happy Tenth Wedding Anniversary

It has been ten years, last April 6, since we exchanged vows to love and cherish, till death do us part, etc., etc., etc. Thinking of something to surprise Vangie on our tenth wedding anniversary, i started planning on how to send her a singing telegram. The last time I did this was about 11 years ago before we were married.

About 2 months before the event, I tried searching the internet for a singing telegram. Unfortunately, there are just a few people/or companies offering such service. Then I discovered Mr. Alex "Al-vis" Torres, an Elvis Presley impersonator who performs such service. He brings along a laptop where he displays a presentation while singing. I called him up and arranged for him to go to Marriot Hotel and deliver the "message".

With a singing telegram located, my next task was to find an accomplice in my wife's office who will help me make sure that my wife will be at the right place and time when Al-vis arrives. I emailed Michelle if she was willing to help me with my plan to which she enthusiatlically agreed. This started a month long correspondence between the two of us under my wife's nose.



So much to buy, so little money ...

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of ads on FB offering discounts up to 90% on fashion, food, travel, shows, cooking lessons, gym membership, etc.

Curious, last year I first tried Ensogo and purchased vouchers for Clawdaddy and Legend of India, using my debit card.

Ensogo also holds raffles for its members. I think the last raffle they have, which is still on-going, is for a travel; package to Cebu.

With my two purchases, I haven't encountered any problems. In fact I got my vouchers via email almost immediately after I paid for it.

Panagbenga 2011: Baguio's Flower Festival

Every year, on the month of February, Baguio City holds a flower festival, which culminates on a floral parade, that passes through its main street, Session Road. People start to line the street as early as 5 AM to get a good seat on the sidewalks. The floats alternately pass through both ways of the road. It is suggested that you go there early and find a good place fronting Don Henrico's or Andok's as the other side of the street faces the sun making it difficult to take photographs. Be sure to bring your own blanket or paper to use as seats on the sidewalk.

Dinner in Baguio - Vizco's Restaurant

While walking along Session Road in Baguio City during Panagbenga 2011, my wife, daughter and I found this restaurant just beside Don Henrico's. As we had already tried Don Henrico's a couple of times, we decided to try out Vizco's Restaurant.

 

We thought it odd that place was empty when we came in. Later did we found out that most of the clients prefer to dine on the 2nd floor.

A Taste of India, 19 February 2011

Ever since we had a taste of chicken tikka masala (CTM) in Australia, we're always on the lookout for a good one here in Manila. We had it in the foodcourt in Glorietta and lately at the Kebab Factory in SM Megamall. We usually have it with either plain or buttered naan (a flat bread cooked in a tandoori oven).

When I saw last year that Ensogo had a promo for an Indian restaurant (Legend of India) in Makati, I bought two (2) vouchers at P200 each but worth P500 of food each or a 60% discount.
