Staycation in Marriott Hotel Manila

We had planned on a staycation at the Marriott Hotel Manila after we stayed there for a night two years ago, courtesy of the hotel which my wife won in a raffle. It was my birthday but unfortunately, I was not feeling well and not able to enjoy our stay as much as I wanted to.

This time, however, my wife had to work till 7 pm as there was a wedding fair being held at the hotel. So it was just my daughter and I who spent the whole afternoon. We were given a room on the 6th floor of the 8-storey hotel.

The room has two double beds with each bed having four fluffy pillows. My daughter loved the bed as she will be having four pillows all to her own. A large LCD television is located just at the foot of the bed. The room has two chairs by the window and a workstation where you can plug in your laptop computer. What I like about their electric outlet is it is universal where almost any kind of plug will fit into.

The room also comes with two pairs of house slippers and matching bathrobes. The bathroom has lots of towels and bath supplies, like toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and conditioner, etc.

The toilet and bathroom has a see-through glass panel to alllow light in. There is a retractable curtain, though, which can be used for some privacy. The bathroom has a bath tub and a rainshower, but the toilet does not have a bidet which my daughter was looking for.right after she used it.
The room had a great view of the front of the hotel and the NAIA Terminal 3. I forgot to take a night shot though.
After settling in and Angel finishing a bag of chips while watching her favorite cartoons, we decided to go to the pool for a dip. Located on the 2nd floor, it also has a fitness center as well as a salon by Jesi Mendez.

The sky was overcast when we went to the pool. Only a few people where there, which was quite ok since it is not that big. The deepest part is 4 feet which is good for swimming kids.
After our dip in the pool, we changed clothes and went to the Grand Ballroom to see my wife who is at the registration table. We checked the exhibit but Angel got bored soon so we left and returned to our room to wait for my wife to finish her work and have dinner.

We opted not to stay in the lobby lounge because of the fair, the lounge has lots of people and a runway for a short fashion show in the evening.
Still being bored from waiting for her mom to finish work, Angel started clicking away the camera and taking shots of anything she finds in the room.
Finally, just before 7PM, my wife came to our room for us to have dinner. We were supposed to have dinner at McDonald's in Newport Mall. However, maybe it's because of the wedding fair and the launching of a new internet service from Smart, almost all of the more affordable dining places in the mall were full. We chose the Stakers Burger Cafe which is located on the 4th level of the Newport Mall where the 4 cinemas as well as the Mcdonalds are located. By the way, the mall has an access from the Marriott Hotel.
The King and I, soon to open at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
After dinner, we whiled away our time in the mall before heading back to our room to cap the night.

We woke up late in the morning and ready for one of the highlights of our stay: buffet breakfast at the Marriott Cafe. As I have said before, my problem with buffet is that there are just too many choices I don't know which to eat. I will try to make a post about our breakfast experience.
Being able to get a late checkout till 2 PM, we had enough time to go swimming one last time and angel to have her bubble bath.
We got back to our room just before noon. While Angel took her bubble bath, i took a quick nap while Vangie surfed the net.
Alas, all good things must come to an end. Just before 2 PM, we packed our things and went downstairs to check out. The question is: when will we have our next staycation? I hope it is sooner than later.

Very nice! I bet you all had a very relaxing staycation. Hah, I wish I could also have a day of rest in a 5-star hotel such as Marriott esp. now that I feel so worn-out.

Have a wonderful start of the week!

Thanks for sharing the interiors of your room. It is lovely and really comfortable!

The brief vacation must have temporarily removed your stresses from your diurnal life. More so, having time with your daughter must be fun while the Mom was busy. I bet you all had a great time :)

Yup, she goes to St Scho in Manila and is in grade 5 at the moment. She had a class that Saturday and we went to check in right after her classes.

We were supposed to attend the Kadayawan Festival in Davao City the previous week and already havd return plane tickets which cost us P2,200 for the three of us.

But when we computed the total amount we were to spend, we decided on a staycation instead :)
