SG-Melaka-KL Trip Day 2 (Universal Studios and Orchard Hotel)

November 30, 2012 (Friday)

We had to wake up a little early because we were to transfer to another hotel a few blocks from Marriott.

We decided to check-in early at the Orchard Hotel because the complimentary shuttle bus going to Universal Studio Singapore (USS) stops there to pick up foreign tourists. Take note that you should have your passport as well as embarcation card ready to show the bus driver or you he won't let you in. Also, since this is the last stop along the route, it's almost full when it gets there so be early. The first trip is at 9:35 and every 30 minutes thereafter.
We got to bus station in Sentosa Island, where we were to take the escalator going up to the USS. We had a photo taken first at the revolving  globe infront of USS.
When we got to the entrance, I realized that I did not bring my pre-printed voucher. I was advised by the attendant to go to the guest relations office. There I just presented my credit card, which I used to purchase my vouchers, and they printed our tickets which we then presented at the entrance.

The theme park was not that big. In fact, where it not for the long lines, where you have to wait between 15 to 45 minutes, it would not take the whole day to finish all the rides in the park. I will just let the pictures talk about the park.

We were finally  able to get to our hotel room after we got back from the USS, which is about 5 PM. The lobby has a fantasy land theme and has lots of seats for guests.
The room has only one bed but it was king size that it could fit the three of us plus my wife's friend who visited us on our second night. Nothing noteworthy about the view except that we can see the Marriott Hotel at Tang's from our window.
We were supposed to have dinner at the mall beside Orchard Hotel but the only stalls open were a pub, Subway, an Indian and a Japanese restaurant. We decided to stroll to a nearby foodcourt which is along Orchard Road  (Orchard Tower) and just below a 7-11 convenience store.  As usual, my wife and daughter ordered chicken rice while I ordered pork chop with chopsuey and rice. Each cost S$3.50. Not bad. We also ordered a roti prata but since we were already full, we decided to just share 1 piece.

Thus,  ended our second night in Singapore. We kept the TV on until we were all asleep.

You are right, Noel. USS isn't that big. But we enjoyed the park tremendously.

You made me drool. I love that chicken rice!

We're you able to watch the Dancing Fountain in Sentosa? We missed it kasi eh.

Your girls are really lovely. What a beautiful family!

Unfortunately, we were not able to watch the Dancing Fountain too. The complimentary pass to the Maritime Museum was also not used. Oh well, it gives us another reason to return to SG, ha ha ha

Very nice! Sesame Street attractions weren't in place when we went to USS. Next time na lang din kami. Little One likes Elmo kasi e. Hehehe! =)

My daughter is afraid of these mascots. I guess she was not afraid with Oscar coz she knew he can't chase her because of the trash can, ha ha ha

Thanks for the visit Tin.
